This program was initially designed to be applied by the Programa d'Atenció Bucodental (Oral Health Program) of the Servei Català de la Salut (Catalan Health Service) of the Generalitat de Catalunya (Government of Catalonia, Spain). It was initially used by the Àrea Bàsica de Salut (Primary Health Center) of La Bisbal d'Empordà in 1996. Now, it is used by all dentists of our entity (Serveis de Salut Integrats del Baix Empordà: a Primary Health Care Provider).
Now, it also includes the possibility to make wide epidemic studies and the visit of patient with affectation of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ).

Survey of Oral Health of Catalonia. 2006.
This epidemiological survey was made at the beginning of 2006 in a sample of primary schools and secondary schools of Catalonia (Spain).
This study was coordinated by Dr Elías Casals and Emili Cuenca from the Department of Community and Preventive Dentistry of the Dental School from the University of Barcelona.
The exams were carried out betwen 3/3/2006 and 7/25/2006 by seven examiners and registered with a portable computers in the database of the EpiDents program.
